Creating a fierce beauty from realism and the uncompromising facts of life is his unique gift, merging hyper technicality with a crafted feel for his utilitarian collections. A dual approach of blending innovative construction with eye-catching metalwarehas shaped his collaboration with Moncler Geniussince the start, establishing a distinctive design language that is both urgently metropolitan and instinctively of the moment.

The third iteration of the collaboration focuses on the tension of opposites. Matt and shiny, natural and man-made, soft and hard, dark and light: the collection has been created through an exploration in contrasting elements, relying on the graphic opposition of black and white to get the message across, unremittingly.

Heightened ultra-shine laqué nylon in black, used for cropped or long puffers, is contrasted with white opaque cotton. Meanwhile, duvets and long coats come in elegant nylon satin. Chains are threaded between the boudins of long or short duvets, in a direct play between soft lightweight down and hard metal, further reinforcing the idea of heightened contrast. Garment dyed outerwear, another 1017 ALYX 9SM signature, brings unique color and finishes within the strictly monochrome palette, punctuating the collection.

The base layers of heavy rib knit with raised seams highlight the body underneath the outerwear, creating a natural cover against the skin. Anatomical leather trousers add another dynamic element. The pragmatic look is completed with lug-soled boots, soft bags, metal bracelets and belts.
